A one mile riverside walk takes you to two outstanding pubs with food in West Tanfield. The Bull Inn and the Bruce Arms.
The excellent Staveley Arms in North Stainley is only a half mile walk by footpath (temporarily closed).

Grantley Arms Grantley Reopening on 14th August 2025 after being acquired and reinvented by the nearby 5*
